IXYS IXOLAR™ SolarMD are monocrystalline, high efficiency solar cells. The IXOLAR™ SolarMD cells are ideal for charging battery powered and handheld consumer products such as mobile phones, cameras, PDAs, MP3-Players and toys. They are also suitable for industrial applications such as wireless sensors, portable instrumentation and for charging emergency backup batteries.
With a typical cell efficiency of 22%, SolarMD gives the ability to extend run time even in "low light" conditions and increase battery life and run time in a small footprint, which can easily be built into the design of portable products. The design allows for SolarMD cells to be connected in series and parallel to meet the customer-specific power requirements.
IXOLAR™ products have an excellent photonic response over a wide range of wavelengths and can, therefore, be used for both indoor and outdoor applications..
The product range extends from a single solar bit (KXOB22-12X1) with an output of up to 50mA (0.63V) at 1 Sun up to the 12 bit SLMD960H12 with an output of 40mA (7.56V)
